hey girl.

basically, i have an amazing roommate who knew i was having a bad day. and decided to make me this.
it almost made me cry from pure joy. i mean, my own hey girl?? what more could you ask for in life??
not much, my friends. not much.
i am feeling very grateful for friends who make my life a little bit more enjoyable on those days when it may be too much for me to handle.
other things that made me smile today:
-i remembered GENERAL CONFERENCE is this weekend!
-penelope is coming to see me. happy day indeed!! i have missed that girl. too much.
-the new Regina Spektor album. in particular these songs:
oh, how i adore her. she can do no wrong.
that is all.

Create

I like to define myself as a creative person.

but some days I feel like that is a lie.

That is one of the purposes of this blog actually.

To use that right side of my brain that doesn't get out as much as I would like.

I found this video this week and I think it is beautiful

Creating is part of being human.

No matter what medium we choose

It makes us happy.

Improve-Beautify-Extend-Smile-Cultivate-Develop- Create

Create something beautiful today.

A Nice Surprise

Today I had my wisdom teeth taken out and one of my friends from college sent me roses with a note saying,
 "Hope you feel better soon!
-Jeremy."
It put a strange smile on my face because my mouth was still numb, but a smile none the less.
Have a Happy Weekend!

Big Smile?

This probably isn't something I like to admit. Actually, no probably about it. Who likes to tell people that they have a fake tooth on a retainer in their mouth as we are speaking? Not me. How embarrassing. I feel like a girl (woman? lady? who cares.) of my age should not have to wear orthodontic equipment in their mouth. Especially when they haven't had braces for quite a few years now.
Anyway. As I was eating my blueberry mini wheats this morning, the tooth on my retainer BROKE OFF. So I had two choices as I headed out for the day: not wear a retainer and look like a hillbilly, or wear the other retainer I have that has a wire in front and look like a fourteen year old freak again. Neither is preferable.
I decided on being fourteen again.
Bright Side:
  • At least I can get it fixed tomorrow (as today is a holiday. Happy Memorial Day.)
  • At least I live in a time where I can have straight teeth.
  • At least I live in a time where I just got out of a surgery that will give me a permanent fake tooth in August once the post they put in my bone heals.
But in the moment? I look and feel like I'm fourteen again and it sucks.
